Muscle Building Goals


Visualize Success: You should be able to see a vivid picture of yourself in your mind how you will look when you achieved your goal. Be very clear and detail in your imagination.

Go to as detail as what you will be wearing, how you will be feeling, how you friends and family members will look at you, how will be over all life. Think about the positive changes in your life that these goals may bring.

This mental picture is very important and it pushes you to achieve your goal more than anything else. Visualizing success is a powerful tool to achieve your success. Your role models can also motivate you.

Workout with a partner: Having a partner with similar goal can help you immensely. When you train with a partner you will see increase in motivation, enjoy your training more, encouragement in training harder, lower chances of skipping training sessions and sticking to training program.

You may find that your partner may not have same level of ability in performing the exercises as you.  That is OK. Important thing is you must be able to motivate each other.

Reward yourself: Decide now how you will reward yourself when you achieve your big goal.  May be a new training gear, a sumptuous meal at favourite restaurant or something else that will keep you focussed on your goal and track you progress.

Keep Track: It is important to keep track of your progress. Keep a log of your exercises and nutrition. Once a week go thru these notes and see if your performance matches your goal. If required you may have to take some correcting actions including working harder. If you are on track, congratulate yourself.

Take a Photo: Photographs taken before your start your new program and then at the intervals of say 3 weeks – helps you in giving yourself an honest feedback. This is much more objective that looking in the mirror.

Professional Advice: Consider a personal trainer on an occasional or regular basis. They make sure that you are keeping with your goals and not skipping exercises or falling behind. They give you advice on many different subjects and help you achieve more in less time and effort.
